Procrastination Humor Payoff
Finding humor, especially in the seemingly irrational behavior of procrastination, can help relieve stress, to help you take action.
Unless you’re truly prevented from doing something by circumstances beyond your control, you are getting a short-term benefit from procrastinating. Really.
Just as the actions you take can generate positive feelings, so can the inaction of procrastination.
Procrastination helps you relieve unpleasant feelings in the short-term, but often creates worse problems and emotions in the long-term.
Here’s one way to help with your procrastination.
- Acknowledge that you’re human, and that sometimes you procrastinate to feel better in that moment.
- Forgive yourself, or make a joke about it, and move forward.
